TRAIN LIKE A PRO
MMA.
WHAT IT IS
Mixed Martial Arts is what happens when every discipline matters. You train Muay Thai, you train BJJ, you train wrestling, and then you put them in the same round and figure out how they talk to each other. The striking threat sets up the takedown. The takedown threat opens the striking. The guard becomes a weapon. Every transition is both a danger and an opportunity.
MMA classes at Lions are led by Amir Ghassemi and Rodrigo Sezinando, a striking specialist and a BJJ black belt with deep MMA coaching experience, respectively. The curriculum is built around the transitions: striking to clinch, clinch to takedown, takedown defense into counters, top control into ground-and-pound.
MMA classes are not beginner classes. Students are expected to have a working foundation in at least one discipline, striking or grappling, before stepping into MMA-specific training. The gym is happy to help you build that foundation first. When you are ready, this is where the full picture comes together.

WHAT A CLASS LOOKS LIKE
MMA classes are structured around one transition or scenario per session, for example, the clinch entry off a jab, or takedown defense into a counter-attack sequence. Warm-ups involve combinations that span striking and movement. Drilling covers the technical sequence at progressive speed. Classes close with MMA-specific sparring: standing exchanges, clinch work, and ground scenarios as appropriate for the group. The pace is high. The learning density is higher.
